The ACLD Foundation’s Annual Golf Outing at Glen Head Country Club raised $171,000 for the exclusive benefit of Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD). The outing honored Michele Rebetti, president of Crestcom KEY Alliance. Rebetti works with companies and nonprofits to improve their productivity and profitability by teaching managers the necessary skills to better concentrate on the bottom line and enhance their organizations’ ability to compete.

A longtime supporter of ACLD, Rebetti was introduced to the agency through the Long Island Elite network in 2018. She has continued to support the organization in various ways, serving on event committees and sponsoring multiple events.

More than 250 Team Schein Members (TSMs) at Henry Schein, Inc.’s Melville headquarters gathered to pack 2,500 hygiene kits for the local community. The kits will support families with children facing serious medical illnesses and also contribute to future disaster response efforts in under-resourced communities. Filled with toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash and other personal care items, the kits are intended to help provide hope, comfort and care to families who need them the most. Completed kits will be distributed to Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro, as well as Heart to Heart International.

This project is part of Henry Schein’s “We Care Global Challenge,” a company-wide initiative that engages TSMs worldwide in assembling care kits to “help health happen” for those in need.

H2M architects + engineers recently won the 2024 Canstruction International Competition in the category of Best Original Design.

Founded in 1992, Canstruction is an international charity competition whereby teams of architects, engineers and contractors build large, vibrant structures entirely out of canned goods. The structures are then publicly displayed and voted on, with winners of the citywide competitions moving on to the international competition. Upon completion, the canned goods used to build these structures are distributed to community food banks. H2M’s design, inspired by the Shel Silverstein book “The Giving Tree,” comprised nearly 7,800 cans of food.

At the 18th Annual Canstruction Long Island Awards, the sculpture received honors for Best Original Design and Most Cans.
